Art Residency in Costa Rica

What a month! Here it is in 16 photos:

OUTSIDE MY DOOR--

First sunset on the hill with avocado tree.

I know they can be horrifically destructive, but I have a thing for leafcutter ants. Guess which one is the soldier?

Soft leaf and twig round I made on an early morning wander.

Hard to beat fresh-squeezed mandarin juice from fruit I picked just minutes before.

AT THE OX CART PARADE--

Beautiful detail of cart and rider.

I loved seeing all the children involved in the festivities- passing on traditions to a new generation.

People-watching is one of my favorite pastimes.

Seems like as good a time as any to have a chat on the phone.

AT THE LOCAL MARKET--

Bananas and chayote.

Love the yucca flowers hanging in the background while these two women catch up on local happenings.

"Here. Try this!" says Grandma.

Yes, the intense colors in the tropics always seem to barge right into things...

I spy with my little eye- you! Time to start packing after a productive residency in the tropics. Back to Wisconsin, tomorrow.
