In summer, the combination of sky blue with the luminous greens of a healthy forest is a calm alliance. Fall brings drama. Chlorophyll stops converting light to sugars as green disappears, revealing more cautionary yellows, oranges, and reds. Leaves boldly glitter, then flutter to the ground. Winds shift. Winter can no longer be denied.
